Course Overview

This includes communication, teamwork and collaboration, problem‑solving and critical thinking, digital literacy, organisation and time management, data handling, reflective practice, creativity, innovation and an entrepreneurial mindset.   These skills are important in any job and will prepare you to work confidently in a range of industries. Whether you’re looking to work in business, tech, healthcare, or something else, the skills you learn here will ensure that you are well-prepared to excel in any professional environment.

Upon successful completion of this course, students have the opportunity to progress to year 2 of the BA Business Skills.

During the year, as well as gaining foundational academic skills, students will learn to use a range of digital tools that support both personal development and small‑business growth, enabling them to understand how technology drives decision‑making and productivity in contemporary organisations. The modules introduce business planning and start-up, digital marketing, managing people and effective teamwork, self-reflection for career development and problem‑solving approaches that prepare students for real-world business environments. By the end of the year, students will have developed a transferable skill set that enhances employability and prepares them for various professional environments.

Applications to this course must be made directly to the University of Wales Trinity Saint David using our online application form. Students under the age of 21 will have 64-80 UCAS points or equivalent. For those aged 21 or over, entry on to the course is by individual merit and largely determined by admissions interview performance, with experience often taken into consideration in lieu of formal qualifications. Cert HE courses are only open to home applicants.
